I'm Kelsy. I'm a nurse. I work the night shift on a crazy surgical unit and you would not believe the stuff that happens when sick people sleep. To hear more about that and other stories read on....

I Wish for Spring.

Winter is dragging on here.  What did I expect?  It's Montana.  The possibility of snow in June, even July is likely.  I gave myself a pep-talk around October-November when things started getting cold and dreary.  I told myself if I could get through a Montana winter, especially here, I could do anything.  I told myself to have grace with myself.  On days when I felt down and out, when it was overcast and cold, I would have grace, power through, and try not to let it get to me.
I've noticed lately, it's getting to me.  Not in the obvious way, just feeling a little blah.  Feeling stuck.  I'm sure you know the feeling.  I talked to my mother last night, she's always an encouragement.  She told me it had been sunny there and that maybe it would come over to me today.  She was right.  The sun has been peeking it's head in and out all morning, and I'll take it.  Any way it comes, I'll take it.  I opened up my back door, which opened to the east side of the house and the sun poured in.  Ahhh.  I leave the door open.  Nothing can beat the feeling of sun on your skin.
So I make my lunch.  Boring old sandwich with chips and salsa.  I sit on the little red bench built in by the back door.  Let the sun kiss me.  It will go a long way for me.  It will have to.  I work the whole weekend and will either be indoors at the hospital or indoors in my bed.
Spring is on it's way, let's wait patiently.

No matter how long the winter, spring is sure to follow.  ~Proverb

PS- Yes, my refrigerator is in a little nook by the back door and not actually in the kitchen.  This is a very old house and there are not outlets with ground electricity and the fridge just had to go back there.  I'm totally used to it now.  When I first moved in I would walk through the back door and say, "Oh hello, fridge."

Oh hello fridge. That's cute. We're getting a little sun off and on here. I've got a window open and after naps we're going out. Happy, happy!
