I'm Kelsy. I'm a nurse. I work the night shift on a crazy surgical unit and you would not believe the stuff that happens when sick people sleep. To hear more about that and other stories read on....

Turkeyness!

It was so great being home for a few days!! The best part was getting to feel my niece kick around in my sister's belly!!! I can't wait to meet that girl!
On Friday my dad and I went skiing. Boy, was that comical. Our first fall took place like this. I followed my dad down the hill, but he got a little side-tracked in about 8 inches of ungroomed powder, in which he soon face-planted. Because I was laughing so hard, I fell too.
Here is my sister and I before we went up to get our Christmas tree. I know she's going to hate this picture on my blog, but for some reason I didn't get any good pictures of us! I'm so bummed. Her baby bump is so cute!
This would be me cutting down my own Christmas tree.
Because my sister's baby shower was a bust(bad road conditions) we took time to meet up with special family friends, Doug and Sue. You can see Kristen's cute little belly here!
And here is the beauty of my drive home. It's always a rough drive back to Montana, because I lose an hour going back over the time zone, but it is always hard leaving my family and friends and everything I know.
I had to work the same night I drove home, so here is a little story about how clumsy I was with one of my patients. Thanks goodness he had a good sense of humor. I had this male patient, older guy, broke his neck. I was getting ready to put him on the bedpan. So I raised his bed up to my height. In the process, the handle of the bed side rail got hooked on the chair and broke off! It made this shattering loud noise that almost sounded like I broke a glass vase on the floor. Another nurse I work with rushed in to check on me, and my patient exclaimed "Are you trying to scare me to death?" Then, once I regained my normal heart rate, I rolled the patient over to his side, and as I did this I lost my hold on the metal bedpan, which then clanked loud and hard on the linoleum floor, where it rotated around and around until I figured I better pick it up. At this point my patient said "Oh hell." and I started laughing. After reassuring my him that I really am a nurse, and not clown, I got him on the bedpan and reached for his call bell, which slid off the bed and clanked to the floor and all I could do was shake my head.
