I'm Kelsy. I'm a nurse. I work the night shift on a crazy surgical unit and you would not believe the stuff that happens when sick people sleep. To hear more about that and other stories read on....

Short and Sweet

This week I made a patient cry.  It was completely unintentional and to tell you the truth I don't really think it was me who made her (yep, female, surprised? NO) cry.  It was just a culmination of little sleep, pain, and you know, being in the hospital.  Yet, it made me feel horrible.  I wanted to wash away her tears, hold her tight, and give her some Dilaudid.  Instead, I gave her two Percocet, only later to find out that it snockered her the whole day.  The risks you take in pain control....

On another note, I'm coming up on my 2 year anniversary of being a nurse.  I'm thinking I might need to change the name of my blog, seeing as I'm not so much of a "new nurse" anymore.  What do you think?  I want to hear your ideas...
