I'm Kelsy. I'm a nurse. I work the night shift on a crazy surgical unit and you would not believe the stuff that happens when sick people sleep. To hear more about that and other stories read on....

Cry a river, build a bridge and get over it....

I've had major blog block lately. I feel like my posts are so boring (you're probably thinking, "They are, Kelsy.") I've been a little in the dumps lately, definitely throwing myself a pity party. Whoever named those things a "party" was nuts. Parties are fun and you get to hang out with people. What they should be called is "pity slumps" or "life sucks moment/moments." Sometimes life just throws you curveballs and it is then that your character really comes out. I need to get over my "life sucks moments" and move on.
So in honor of getting over it, I decided to exercise today. I don't normally enjoy exercise, ie: running. I like things like yoga, hiking, or sitting on a rock pondering the universe. Back in the day I ran a ton and it was no big deal. Today I went for a run. And it was a big deal. I'm hoping it will help me cope with stress, not to mention now I can eat ice cream and mini Charleston Chews without feeling guilty. Maybe running isn't such a bad thing after all.
My visit with my parents was lovely, but all too quick. We went to the Farmer's Market, had a BBQ with friends who live in the area, and visited a tourist trap close by. It was nice to catch up and drink coffee with other people in the morning.
Hopefully my outlook on life will make a turn for the better and I'll be back to myself in no time!
